The Driving Instructors Scottish Council (DISC) current chair of the National Associations Strategic Partnership (NASP) hosted a NASP meeting in Edinburgh yesterday (2.6.15)

It was a very productive meeting, an agreed report will be published by NASP in due course and will be posted in on msagb.com printed in MSA Newslink and will be circulated by other NASP members.

My thanks to DISC for their excellent hospitality.

Those attending the meeting were: Lynne Barrie & Chris Porter ADINJC; Carly Brookfield & Neil Fotheringham  DIA; Gavin Brownlie (Chair) & Gareth Marchant DISC; Peter Harvey & John Lepine MSA. Also in attendance Sandra Boomer from DISC who took the minutes and the picture above.

AeneasOn a sad note The chairs of DISC & MSA, Gavin Brownlee and Peter Harvey both left the meeting for a short period to represent their respective organisations at the funeral of  Aeneas MacRitchie.

Aeneas was at one time a DSA Supervising Examiner (ADI) and after retiring became an ADI and an ADI trainer. He was an active member of both the MSA and particularly of DISC who he represented on a number of bodies including Go Skills, ORDIT and various DSA working groups.

I had the pleasure of working with Aeneas on both the ORDIT management committee and a Go Skills. He was a great advocate of quality driver training and had a genuine insight into how to train ADIs. Sincere condolences to his family I know he will be greatly missed
